Reduce the burden and impact of injuries through a wide variety of strategies, approaches programmes and technologies.
Develop, support, facilitate, implement, monitor and evaluate injury prevention and safety promotion policies and programmes based on an epidemiological understanding of injury problems using evidence-based interventions through multidisciplinary approaches.
The centre works in the areas of Injury prevention, Road Safety, Traumatic Brain injury, Childhood injury prevention, workplace safety, Suicide and violence prevention. We support national and local governments, international agencies and communities with data and information, evidence-based interventions and policy and programme inputs. The centre conducts epidemiological and public health linked research, undertakes training and human resource development for professionals in health and related sectors, brings in evidence-based interventions in policies and programmes, does advocacy in a number of focused areas, facilitates implementation of programmes along with systematic monitoring and evaluation.
