Significant inputs have been provided to various agencies at local, national and international levels to strengthen suicide prevention programmes on an understanding that it is multi-factorial in nature.
Inputs shave been provided to the Ministries of Health, Law commissions of Government of India and Karnataka, professional bodies, and media professionals to bring changes to existing mechanisms.
The centre in collaboration with Medico Pastoral Association and Bangalore Rotary established a suicide prevention helpline “SAHAI” run by lay trained volunteers under the supervision of the professionals.
Inputs have been provided for the National Suicide Prevention policy under the National Mental Health Programmes of the Government of India by identifying specific components for intervention purposes.
