Advocacy and Awareness

Advocacy is the process of bringing change.  As road safety needs a shift from reactive to proactive approaches, from crisis-oriented reactions to systematic activities, from fatalistic attitudes to safe system approaches and a major shift in the mindset in all societies, the CC is actively engaged in several advocacy activities. Variety of tools in the form of study reports, policy briefs, public health alerts, fact sheets, monographs, and other educational materials have been developed based on data and evidence. The CC conducts programmes during road safety week, World Day of Remembrance, Stakeholder’s consultations, conferences, training programmes and other activities. By working closely with media partners, advocacy activities in many areas of injury prevention have been undertaken on a continuous basis.
