Overview

The Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is involved in clinical services, training and research. High quality services are provided in outpatient, inpatient and emergency settings. Training courses in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry namely DM and PDF are offered. Large number of postgraduate trainees from within and outside NIMHANS are trained in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Faculty members serve as resource persons for various topics related to Child and Adolescent Mental Health at regional, national and international levels. Advocating for the cause of safe-guarding child and adolescent mental health by active collaboration with NGOs, Child Welfare Committee, Juvenile Justice Boards, ChildLine India Network, Centre for Child and the Law and other child-related organizations is one of the major activities at the child and adolescent psychiatry services at NIMHANS.
