Journey through
In line with National Education Policy 2020 (NEP 2020, Ministry of Human Resources, Government of India), M. Phil in Neurosciences has been discontinued since 2021. This has resulted in the shortage of trained personnel with proficiency in biomedical disciplines that directly support advanced research in the multidisciplinary areas of Neurosciences.
To overcome, in accordance with NEP 2020 (S. No. 11.10) which offers flexibility to HEIs to design Master’s programmes of 2-year duration with second year devoted entirely to research for those who have completed the 3-year Bachelor’s programme, M.Sc in Neurosciences has been proposed.
The proposals with necessary inputs were placed and deliberated in the 26th Board of Studies meeting held on 20th September 2022 and subsequently recommended for placing the proposal after revision before the Academic Committee of the Institute. In compliance thereof, the subject was placed before the 12th Academic Committee meeting held on 30th September 2022. In consonance with the recommendations of the Board of Studies, the Academic Committee consented for the commencement of this multidisciplinary post-graduate program subject to the ratification by the Governing Body. The program is expected to generate human resource in Neurosciences.
