Neurology OPD Schedule:
The Department of Neurology offers both inpatient and outpatient clinical services. The procedure for availing OPD services is outlined below:
Patient Registration in Out Patient Department (OPD)
Patients visiting NIMHANS for the first time are registered at the Screening block in the Outpatient Department between 8.00 am and 11.30 am from Monday through Saturday. Patients with reference letter to a particular faculty will get preference for registration at the Screening block. (Q. No. 2) Please produce the referral letter from your doctor and get a screening slip by paying Rs.20.00 only. Patients will be evaluated by a General Medical Officer / Resident Doctor in the screening block to determine the nature of illness and will thereafter be referred to the appropriate speciality within NIMHANS. If patients have no neurological illness they will referred to other government hospitals.
Patients in the sub-speciality clinics are seen only by prior appointment. New patients wish to be seen in the speciality clinics have to get themselves registered first in the general neurology OPD. Subsequently they may be given appointment for these special clinics as per the neurologist’s discretion.
NB: In case the doctor you were referred to is not available on the day of your arrival, the patient will be seen by other doctors of the concerned team.
Please Note:
(1) All investigation facilities such as MRI, CT-Scan, X-ray and most of blood investigations are available at NIMHANS. Certain specialized tests not done at NIMHANS will have to be performed from outside laboratories.
(2)Patients attending screening block on the first occasion, need not go back for screening again. They will be seen by concerned specialist team at this institute.
