National Mental Health Survey

The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, entrusted NIMHANS with planning and conducting the National Mental Health Survey (NMHS). NMHS 1, conducted in 2015-16 in 12 states, provided valuable insights by estimating the burden of mental health problems and understanding healthcare-seeking patterns. Now, preparations for NMHS 2 are underway, with goals to gather essential data for policy and programs, address emerging mental health concerns, and establish comprehensive mechanisms to tackle mental health issues nationwide.

Yuva Spandana is a program to bridge the gap between youth, their families, and the ever-changing society in order to enable a smooth transition of youth from childhood to adulthood. This program plans to create safe spaces for youth within their families and societies to express themselves and to raise general awareness about youth, their dilemmas, needs, and other concerns.
