General Instructions
A) Instruction to enter the Library
- Show your identity card to the security personnel while entering the library.
- Users are requested to co-operate in maintaining an atmosphere conducive to study and research. Many of the reading materials possessed by this library are very precious, rare, and irreplaceable. Please handle them with utmost care.
- All users of the reading room are required to sign the daily logbook upon entering the library.
- All personal belongings should be deposited at the security desk upon entry to the library.
- The use of cell phones in the library is forbidden.
- Users are not permitted to consume food or beverages in the library.
- Users will not be allowed to take issued books inside the library.
- Please use coat racks and hangers at the main entrance. Wearing aprons or coats is not allowed inside the library.
- The security personnel will inspect all materials in your possession when leaving the library.
- For any assistance required, please consult any library staff.
- Do not re-shelve the materials.
- Any faulty materials found should be brought immediately to the notice of the library staff.
- All users are requested to co-operate and follow the above rules strictly.
B) Reading Hall Guidelines
- Entry is allowed only for users with biometric access. For assistance, contact the library circulation desk.
- All users must wear their ID cards during library or reading hall visits.
- Users are required to record their check-in and check-out timings in the register during each visit.
- Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Do not leave belongings on a seat to "reserve" it.
- Take all your belongings with you when you leave. The library is not responsible for any lost items.
- Maintain silence in the reading hall. Refrain from using cell phones for conversations.
- Use reading hall facilities responsibly. Avoid damaging plug points, chairs, tables, or other facilities.
- Consuming food or beverages inside the reading hall is strictly prohibited.
- Dispose of waste properly and help maintain cleanliness in the reading hall. Do not leave trash or paper scraps behind.
- Dress appropriately and behave in a manner that ensures the comfort of staff and other users.
- The reading hall is under CCTV surveillance.
Instructions to Borrowing Facilities
Books/Journals will be issued to individuals upon bar-coded membership card, which is given to the member, who applies for the library membership card. Members will be given as many as the number of books/journals they are eligible to borrow:
