NIMHANS Health Scheme (NHS)

NIMHANS Health Scheme (NHS) is a contributory health initiative aimed at delivering comprehensive medical care to NIMHANS employees and their dependents. Modelled after the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), the NHS ensures that all beneficiaries have access to a wide range of medical facilities, including free treatment at the NIMHANS Health Centre (NHC), specialist consultations, and care at government and referral hospitals in Bengaluru.

Each member receives an NHS card, granting them entitlement to these benefits, along with access to specialist consultations from visiting Honorary Consultants in various fields such as Neuro Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, ENT, Endocrinology, and Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Additionally, the scheme has partnered with select private hospitals and diagnostic centres, allowing beneficiaries to receive treatment at CGHS-approved rates.

To further enhance convenience, a cashless service is now available for inpatient treatment at empanelled hospitals. Under this scheme, beneficiaries can receive treatment without upfront payment, as the hospital bills are managed directly through a Bill Clearing Agency, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
