Neurochemistry

The Department of Neurochemistry is involved in diagnostics, research and teaching.

The department offers diagnostic services to all the clinical departments through its 24-hour Clinical Biochemistry Unit (CBU). The CBU is accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing & Calibration of Laboratories (NABL), New Delhi. The CBU is furnished with state-of-the-art equipment for analysis of blood, urine and CSF samples. The department also offers high throughput mass spectrometry-based screening tests for Inborn Errors of Metabolism.

The faculty members of the department train PhD students and teach basic and applied neurochemistry in different courses of the institute and conduct research in various physiological and pathological phenomena of the central nervous system.
