AYUSH Projects underway:

The NIMHANS Integrated Centre for Yoga, NIMHANS, is conducting several research activities from clinical validation to molecular mechanism of yoga in psychiatric and neurological conditions. The centre will also examine the neurological effect of yoga in healthy volunteers (neurophysiological). Ongoing research activities have been cleared by the institute ethics committee.

Completed Projects:

  1. Efficacy of Yoga Therapy on neuroplasticity in patients with depression.
  2. Effects of Yoga as an add-on treatment in immunological parameters of patients with depression.
  3. A randomized controlled trial of Yoga therapy in Mild Cognitive impairment (MCI) - fmri and Biochemical correlates.

  9. Effect of Yoga therapy on plasma oxytocin and facial emotion recognition deficits in patients of schizophrenia.
  10. Efficacy of yoga on Metabolic parameters in Schizophrenia.
